Elizabeth M. Higashi, CFA
Elizabeth M. Higashi has more than 30 years of experience in investor relations and corporate communications, heading those functions for three Fortune 500 companies and serving as counsel to companies in diverse industries.
Previously, Higashi was a principal and equity partner at Sard Verbinnen & Co where she advised clients on a variety of projects including investor relations program development and training; announcements regarding major transactions including acquisitions, divestitures and mergers, executive management changes and corporate restructurings. Her corporate experience includes serving as vice president of corporate communications of IMCERA Group Inc. (formerly International Minerals & Chemical Corporation); vice president of strategic planning and communications for educational publisher, SFN Companies, Inc. (Scott Foresman); and director of investor relations and communications at media conglomerate, The Times Mirror Company (now a part of The Tribune Company). Previously, Higashi was also a principal of Cardinal Advisors, an independent investment counsel firm and started her career as a financial analyst with Scudder, Stevens & Clark in Los Angeles. Higashi received a B.A. from UCLA and M.A. from Occidental College. Higashi currently serves as a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) Subject Matter Expert Committee and is President of NIRI-Chicago. She also serves on the Finance Committee of the Board of Heartland Health Outreach, a non-profit service provider in Chicago. She is a member of the Chicago CFA Society, CFA Institute, NIRI Senior Roundtable, National Association of Corporate Directors, and Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
