Michael Neese

Director, Investor Relations
Altria Group, Inc.


Michael Neese is the Director of Investor Relations at Altria Client Services. In this role, Mr. Neese serves as the spokesperson with the investment community. He is responsible for communicating about the Altria family of companies (Philip Morris USA, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company, Middleton, Ste. Michelle Wine Estates & Philip Morris Capital Corp.) to institutional investors and sell-side analysts.

Prior to this role, Michael was the Director of Communications where he planned and helped develop external communications related to PM USA initiatives, positions and practices and develop and executes media affairs strategies and communications. Michael worked in the Business, Development and Planning department at PM USA, where he analyzed competitive financial models to execute the company's strategies. He also manages internal and external communications for the Senior Executive Team, including presentations to the Wall Street community, Trade Organizations and Employee speeches.

Mr. Neese worked at the Nasdaq-Amex as a Director of Business Development from 1997 to 1999. In this capacity, he identified prospects, analyzed company financial statements and delivered presentations to executive managements. Prior to joining the Nasdaq-Amex, Mr. Neese worked as a Senior Account Executive for Thomson Investor Relations.

Mr. Neese earned a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech. He is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and was a member of the Public Relations Society Association. He was the 2004-2005 outstanding young alumnus for the Pamplin College of Business.

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Michael moved to New York City in 1995 to pursue a career in Finance and Investor Relations. He returned to VA in 2003 as the corporate headquarters of Philip Morris USA made its relocation to Richmond. He enjoys spending time with his family, wife Kristen ('94 VT grad), sons Hudson & Jack and daughter Sarah Beth, playing golf, and attending Virginia Tech football games.
